Positive Behaviour Support

“Every organisation has a culture, that history and underlying sense of unwritten expectations that shape everything about a school. A school culture influences the ways people think, feel and act.”   “Every organisation has a culture, that history and underlying sense of unwritten expectations that shape everything about a school. Malibu School is initiating a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework that enhances the social and learning outcomes of students.

A PBS team has been set up to oversee this process. The team currently has staff representatives from across all phases of learning and in term two will include both a student and community representative also.

The Malibu school PBS will be a preventative model, based on the premise that all students benefit from well implemented, evidence –based practices for improving student social and learning outcomes.

Malibu School PBS will provide the framework for:

  • Improving the social and learning climate of the school
  • Enhancing the impact of academic instruction on student achievement
  • Increasing proactive, positive and preventative school-wide behaviour management
  • Integrating academic and social/behavioural initiatives
